Penmachno Hall

Bed & Breakfast of the Year - Regional Winner - Les Routiers 2007

AA Landlady of the Year - Top 20 Finalists 2007

A former Rectory dating from 1862, Penmachno Hall is set in over 2 acres of private grounds, comprising spinney and landscaped garden, fronted by the Glasgwm River. Situated in the Snowdonia National Park, just 4 miles from the tourist centre of Betws-y-Coed, Penmachno Hall offers the discerning visitor the opportunity to be within easy reach of all the major tourist attractions, whilst at the same time enjoying the seclusion that the largely undiscovered Glasgwm valley has to offer. With its breathtaking views, quiet forest tracks, stepping stones and secret waterfalls, the valley is a haven of tranquility within easy reach of bustling Betws-y-Coed.
Offering Country House-style accomodation, the 3 spacious bedrooms are all en-suite, and benefit from panoramic views of the garden and surrounding countryside. The two guest reception rooms, the Morning Room and Dining Room, have open log and coal fires. Freshly prepared meals, accompanied by a selection of excellent wines, are a speciality.

Since aquiring the hall in 2002, Lauraine and Simon have undertaken a programme of extensive refurbishment. Central heating has been installed throughout, and the redecoration was planned with a keen eye for interior design.

The front door with its original Victorian brass bell-pull, leads to the large entrance hall, with grandfather clock, wooden floors and staircase. Two reception rooms are available for guests on the ground floor, with all three letting bedrooms situated upstairs.

The landscaped garden, with large stone steps and random slate seating, allows the visitor to enjoy quiet moments listening to the river whilst perhaps taking afternoon tea, or an early evening drink.
